Rose is a wine that goes through the same process as red wines but is stopped before extracting too many of their distinctiveness. Almost always made from red varietals, the grapes are pressed just enough time to get a bit of color and a bit of the skin characteristics. Then fermentation continues as a white wine, most often in stainless steel.
Almost all regions make rose, and many from different grape varieties (Garnacha, Merlot or blends). Rose wines can be of different style: sweet or dry, dark or light. Navarra is considered to be one of the best sources of Rose wine in the world.
