• From The Cold Kitchen ( 9 items )
Why always when we think of a cold dessert, we think in a mousse or a cream???
From the simplest to the sophisticated there are millions of ways to cook, serve and create a cold dessert. You must design your plate; choose the flavours and contrasting flavours, textures, colours and style. You can choose between chocolate, fresh fruit, purées, almonds, nuts, spices, custards and creams to create them.
In jost of the cold desserts the shape of them is given by the use of the gelatin that helps us to create different structures, looking for height and softness, or as well in cooked custard the egg is in charge of the softness and the shape. There are millions of recipes for every type of dessert, each country has their own interpretation of how to make it, so nowadays it is very easy to say where a dessert came from, but it is quite difficult to find classic preparations of them, that still remain classic.
In the culinary industry a sophisticated dessert is expensive and the jost exclusive, sometimes to have a specific dessert you must go to “that restaurant” or to “that pastry shop” Spaniards will often prefer a fruit for dessert and cakes for their “meriendas” (afternoon tea break), rather than a creamy or chocolate dessert, but still we hope you can enjoy some of the recipes we want to share with you and provide a special ending for every one of your meals.

• The World Of Pies & Tarts ( 3 items )
In Spain, people will always prefer a piece of pie or fresh home made pastries for their breakfast or “merienda” rather than having them for dessert in every meal. Pies and pastries can be eaten cold, hot, or even warm, and they can be prepared a few days in advance (actually some recipes are required to be prepared in advance for a better taste). Many of these pies and pastries vary as you go from one region to another. Each one uses their own typical ingredients, but there is always a pie or a pastry for every occasion. The orange cake is a typical cake from Valencia, (where you can find the best oranges!!!!!!) we also know St James Tart from the North…. and we can named pies and tarts from all over the country, but it would be too much, so hopefully you will enjoy some of our Spanish – Internationals creations that we have gathered for all of you!!!
